Whistleblower channel introduced at the Financial Stability Authority

The Financial Stability Authority has introduced an internal whistleblowing channel. It is voluntary for the Authority to set up an internal whistleblowing channel, and its purpose is to improve the conditions for internal control in the Authority.

The objective of the whistleblowing channel is to guarantee that if a person notices or suspects any conduct that is contrary to the common interest while carrying out their duties, they can safely report the matter. Whistleblower protection provides protection to those reporting misconduct specified in the Finnish Whistleblower Act.

Reporters outside the Authority can submit their report to the centralised reporting channel of the Office of the Chancellor of Justice.

Whistleblower protection is based on the Act on the Protection of Persons Reporting Infringements of European Union and National Law (1171/2022) (in Finnish) and on the Whistleblower Protection Directive (EU) 2019/1937.
